Nursery and Pre Prep Sports Day

Despite the dire weather forecast the rain stayed away for the St Andrew’s Nursery and Pre-Prep Sports Days.
To open the morning proceedings the Nursery children paraded to the top of the field in their shorts, polo shirts and go-faster-trainers.  Each child ran in a sprint race before competing in some specialty races.
Robin Class took part in the Aeroplane Race followed by the Balance the Bean Bag Race.  Racing Robins
enjoyed Jumping Bean Bags and Going to the Beach Dressing Up Races and the
Chaffinch children contested their version of the traditional egg and spoon race,
namely Racket and Ball, before the morning came to a close with a Paint the
Rainbow Relay.
In the afternoon the Pre-Prep children entered the sporting arena with a tribute to Mrs Haggis who is leaving St Andrew’s Prep after 28 years. Once the children had been organised into their house teams they competed in a variety of fun races cheered on by watching parents and grandparents.
To close both the Nursery and Pre-Prep Sports Day, Mrs Pinch organised a hilarious event for the parents which involved finding a partner, wrapping a swimming noodle around their middles, donning a shower cap and flippers and careering the full length of the race track as fast as possible. The children all watched from the side lines and clapped and cheered as their parents did them proud.
A truly memorable day of racing events was enjoyed by young and old alike.
