Spring Term: Week 4

Boarding Blog W4

Although the boarders in school have adapted admirably to life in lockdown, I definitely got the feeling that last weekend’s exeat fell at the right time to give them a chance to reunite with their families and guardians whilst also offering them a change of scenery. That said, two of our overseas boarders spent the weekend in school and were very well looked after by Miss Lozano, our fantastic Head of EAL.

I’m sure all parents are battling with screen time balance at the moment and in Colstocks the staff is no different. As a result, this week we have introduced a 20-minute blast at 4pm for the boarders and gappies to enjoy some aerobic activity on the field. Whilst it might not be a popular choice at the time, once the boarders have had a chance to stretch their legs, increase their heart rate and accrue miles for the School John O’Groats to Hong Kong Challenge initiative, they return to the House feeling much better for it.

In staff news, this term we have welcomed Ross Bird and Regan Arnoldi, two gap students from South Africa. Although the school currently has a slightly different feel, they are still contributing and supporting in all areas.
