Spring Term: Week 7

Monday 8 March 2021: a date that will be etched firmly in all parents’ minds as the day when schools can open their doors again to all pupils after eight weeks of remote learning. That said, the Colstocks staff and a small number of boarders who have been residing in the boarding house during lockdown are gearing up excitedly for Sunday 7 March – the date when we will be able to welcome back the majority of our Colstocks community.
Three of our boarders will remain in Hong Kong until the start of the summer term and although nearly 6,000 miles away, their presence will be felt very much in the classroom as they will be logging in to their various academic lessons live through Teams; something that schools could have only dreamed of doing just twelve months ago.

The increased day light has given the boarders in school an opportunity to exercise outside after finishing their lessons at 4pm. This has been a welcome addition to their routines, although they do enjoy the downtime before supper when they can continue with their FIFA tournament on the Xbox!

This weekend the boarders will be heading out on a walk across the downs with Miss Lancefield and enjoy making use of the sports hall, tennis courts and school field. They will also be using Piglet’s Pantry to make their own pizzas on Saturday afternoon which, all being well, they will then enjoy for their supper.
