Autumn Term: Week 1

It was wonderful to welcome our boarders back  on Tuesday. Colstocks felt empty through the summer months but that all changed within minutes of their arrival and the volume of chatter and laughter escalated during the Familiarisation Afternoon. I have been thrilled by the confidence and resilience shown by the children. In such strange times, the ease at which they have adapted to a new way of living has been remarkable.

I would like to thank all of the staff who have made the transition so smooth for our Colstocks residents. As a House, we have signed up to the BSA’s COVID-19 Safe Charter and we have taken great care in ensuring that we meet government guidance at all times.

We have also welcomed our new Gap students into the St Andrew’s family. Many of them have close links to the Charity, either as Old Androvians or Old Eastbournians and they will be spending the Autumn Term with us before we welcome our new cohort in January.

Throughout this term we will be continuing with our Sunday trips programme and the first three Sundays are especially inviting. This  the weekend, the boarders are taking part in some team building activities. This will be followed by an afternoon of sailing, kayaking and windsurfing at Buzz Active on the 13 September and then a trip to Go-Ape at Bedgebury to enjoy the thrills of a high ropes course on the 20 September.

I look forward to updating you with tales from the House throughout the school year.
