Autumn Term: Week 13

I was delighted that the boarders were able to venture into town on Saturday afternoon to do some Christmas shopping. Having been confined to the school site during the weekends throughout this half term there was much delight and excitement as they boarded the minibus to drive into the town centre.

Wednesday’s end of term supper was another huge success. These suppers are now firmly etched into the autumn and summer term calendars and provide the opportunity for the boarders and staff to come together to celebrate in a relaxed environment. The food is always a particular highlight and my thanks go to Ted and his catering team for continuing to treat us to such fantastic meals.

Today we say goodbye to two of our gap year students, James Edwards and Katie Durbidge and also George Yates who has worked as a House Tutor for 18 months in Colstocks. James and Katie have worked tirelessly throughout the term in all areas of the school and George has been an ever-reliable House Tutor and a brilliant staff team member. All three have formed close bonds with the boarders and we wish them the very best as they depart for pastures new.

As the curtain closes on another busy term, the Colstocks residents can look back over the last 13 weeks with pride. As a group they have laughed, argued and sometimes cried, but all of these emotions have brought them closer together. They have adapted to every situation and have developed their resilience as a result. From everyone in Colstocks, we wish you a very merry Christmas.
