Autumn Term: Week 4

Last Sunday’s trip to Go-Ape at Bedgebury proved very popular and allowed a number of our boarders to climb out of their comfort zone and test themselves on a tricky high ropes course. There were plenty of smiles on display and I was delighted to hear that the boarders were supportive of each throughout the day.

Sadly, we didn’t win the BSA Award for The Best Boarding House Renovation. Sunningdale Prep beat us to the post but they are worthy winners so we don’t feel too hard done by. Congratulations to Sunningdale and we will try even harder to convince the BSA that we should be recipients of the silverware next year! But, to be one of just three independent schools (prep and senior) to make the final of this prestigious award is a magnificent achievement and we are proud that the BSA has recognised the wonderful facilities and fabric our boarders are now enjoying in Colstocks.

Thursday’s heavy showers did not deter our boarders from taking part in their weekly beach walk activity. I happened to catch them, a little wet, as they returned and I loved hearing their laughter and chatter as they headed up to the House.

And so, as we approach the first exeat weekend of the school year, our boarders will enjoy some much needed downtime after a busy four weeks in school. Some will be staying in Colstocks throughout and will be involved in various trips and activities which are being supervised by Mr Ghammache and Miss Lozano. Others will be spending the weekend with their family or their guardians.

Congratulations to Tami Tam, this week’s recipient of Tommo’s Trophy for returning with a very mature and positive attitude. She has also been a brilliant buddy to a new boarder.
