Autumn Term: Week 7

Last weekend the boarders went to Branching Out Adventures to try their hand at a number of exciting activities including high and low ropes, zip wires, a challenge climbing wall and a giant swing, which was definitely not for the faint hearted! Great fun was had by all and many of the boarders were taken out of their comfort zone to see they could do things they’d previously thought too difficult. My thanks go to Mrs Ford who accompanied the boarders on the trip.

This week Hayley Chan, Samuel Lee and Steven Zhang were announced as our first set of boarding prefects. The prefects are selected by the boarding staff who consider them to be excellent ambassadors for Colstocks. Congratulations to them.

As we motor towards the half term holiday, there is a real sense of achievement and pride among the residents of Colstocks. For the boarders, it’s the realisation of everything that they have achieved in the first seven weeks of term, both individually and as a collective. I can also speak for all of the Colstocks staff in saying that we feel an enormous sense of pride watching the children develop emotionally, socially and independently. They are without doubt a part of the St Andrew’s Prep family and they certainly deserve their two week break. I know that they are looking forward to catching up with friends and family during this time.

Well done to Hayley Chan, this week’s recipient of Tommo’s Trophy, for settling so quickly and displaying maturity beyond her years. She is always polite and courteous and makes an effort to get on with everyone in the House.
