Gig Night

Last night was ‘Gig Night’. This was a twist on our Richardson recitals with a more informal feel and a focus on pop, rock, folk and jazz music. Whilst Mr Cousins, Mr Greatorex and the peripatetic staff made sure that pieces were ready to an appropriate level, it was the children who put themselves forward and chose the pieces they wanted to perform. A great sense of musicianship and performance was appreciated by the audience. In addition, Mr Greatorex prepared the Djembes and Rock Band who gave excellent performances.

A school band of five students in uniform performs on stage with guitar, drums, trumpet, trombone, and vocals, in front of an audience seated and watching attentively. A blue curtain is used as a backdrop. Six boys wearing school uniforms play hand drums in a row on stage, while a seventh boy in a striped blazer faces them. A drum kit and piano are visible in the background, with blue curtains behind.
