What our parents say

Don’t just take our word for it… below is a collection of just some of the many testimonials we receive on a regular basis. Our strongest advocates are our parents and our excellent reputation spreads by word of mouth.

“I have children with different needs across the academic, sporting, and musical curriculum. St Andrew’s Prep has met all these needs from behavioural issues to nurturing academic talent.  While my husband and I are busy working, I am also impressed with how much we get back if we participate in the whole experience the school offers. I genuinely feel my children and I are better versions of ourselves not just because of the facilities and talented staff but also the purpose and community St Andrew’s embodies for us.”

“Having been a parent at the school for nearly 20 years I have been lucky enough to experience many updates and refurbishments to St Andrew’s. With our son’s journey starting there and culminating with a first-class honours degree, the strong foundations were laid at St Andrew’s. I feel that the school offers an all-round education that was continued and enhanced through his journey at Eastbourne College. Our daughter is now at St Andrew’s and with a new sports hall and investment in the performing arts department we hope the school continues to grow and our daughter benefits from this all-round education.”

“We chose St Andrew’s Prep because of its ethos and sense of community. What has struck us over the past few months, whilst we have been in lockdown, is just how strong the St Andrew’s community and spirit is.

The leadership, staff and pupils are genuinely outstanding and committed to everything they do.
This is why we love the school and our daughter thrives.”

“Our son started his life at St Andrew’s at 8 months old when he joined the wonderful nursery. Over the last 5 years I have watched him bloom under the loving kind attention of all the staff at the school. We truly feel the school is a part of our family and it’s a wonderful feeling to know we have this group to be part of our lives.”

Parent of a child in Reception

We recently joined St Andrew’s from a large British Prep School in the Middle East. The entire St Andrew’s school community made us feel so welcome right from the very beginning. We looked at other schools in the area and choose St Andrew’s for a multitude of reasons including the extra-curricular opportunities the children have access to as well as the amazing opportunities and experiences the day to day curriculum provides. The registration and application process was seamless and once we were offered a place and sent additional information, we knew we had made the right choice. The children settled very quickly into a new school, new friendship groups, a new country and a new way of life and I’m sure the process was made so much easier by the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. Mr Jones’ excellent leadership and dedication to the school became even more apparent during the Covid-19 lockdown when distance learning was implemented. His daily address to the school reinforced the values and ethos of what an Androvian should strive to be. My children have flourished at St Andrew’s and when I asked my daughter to describe the school she said ‘happiness and politeness.’ ”

We put a lot of time and research Into choosing the ‘right’ school for our son. We had tours, attended open days and booked taster days, spoke to parents and did the same at other local schools too. And by doing that, our decision was very easy. We remain quite sure we made the correct choice and our son is very happy and settled at St Andrews Prep.

We were particularly keen to see how much use was made of the impressive grounds and facilities and were not disappointed. The sport is inclusive and varied, the Forest and Beach school in the younger years a lovely extra. The vast array of choices for after school or Saturday activities quite frankly leaves us parents a smidge jealous we are not playing golf or dry-skiing each Saturday! Our son has really enjoyed the Art and DT he never really had access to prior to joining the school (all sorts of masterpieces have been created) and the musical opportunities and the end of term performances have been amazing. The children are really proud to play their part.

Academically the children are stretched, the lessons varied and stimulating and the content lively. I never used to hear much about his school day before St Andrew’s, now he is absolutely full of stories when I collect him! To be so engaged at such a young age is both vital and wonderful. To have witnessed how thorough and considered the home schooling has been since the Coronavirus pandemic, and how quickly and how well informed we were kept, has been nothing short of a masterpiece for which we are truly grateful.

We feel without question St Andrew’s offers the whole package for our son. At 8 years old it is hard to predict what his future has in store or what his real strengths are; however we feel in the St Andrews Prep environment he will thrive with the vast and diverse array of opportunities open to him alongside the security of the familiar subjects and sports.

The pastoral support has always been comprehensive and, truly, every child is valued, noticed and cherished; St Andrew’s really is a family orientated nurturing environment full to bursting with opportunities for the taking!
