Unique exeat weekend for our boarders in London

Any weekend which starts with a Chinese meal is setting off on the right foot; and to celebrate the forthcoming exeat trip which neatly tied in with the Chinese New Year celebrations, there was no other way to start!

On Saturday morning, our  12 intrepid boarders enjoyed a packed breakfast on the train to London before heading straight to Buckingham Palace for their first photo opportunity. Taking in the sites and sounds en route, the group then walked up to Trafalgar Square to watch the preparations for the Chinese New Year celebrations and then onwards to Piccadilly Circus for lunch. Buoyed by a break and fuel, the boarders made their way through the busy subway system to the Natural History Museum where they marvelled at the suspended blue whale skeleton and stepped into a Japanese earthquake simulator. An all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut supper brought the day to a close and the team headed to their hostel accommodation in Canada Water for the night.

Sunday started with a hearty bacon and eggs breakfast before the team headed for HMS Belfast for a tour of the extraordinary warship. The final tour stop was at Madam Tussaud’s where our starstruck boarders took selfies with the likes of The Rock, David and Victoria Beckham, Dua Lipa, Boris Johnson, Donald Trump and the Royal Family. The highlight for many was the mind-blowing 4D Marvel experience.

The boarders returned, happy, inspired and tired after a really fantastic trip. Many thanks to Matron, Paula Thorpe who accompanied Mr Anderson and the London Explorers!
