Grandparents day 2019
We see a large number of our children’s grandparents supporting school events whether it be watching sport, drama or music or joining us for special chapel services or lectures and it is always a pleasure to see them. So, just before the half term break, we enjoyed a lovely family day as we welcomed more than 150 of the children’s grannies and grandpas to Grandparents’ Day, one of our ways of saying ‘thank you for your support’.
Our guests were welcomed into the Durlacher gym with a glass of elderflower cordial, before sitting down to watch a special concert showcasing some of the outstanding music and dancing talent in the school from different year groups within the school. The reception was overwhelming.
After the concert, the majority of grandparents (some of whom have had a relationship with St Andrew’s Prep for many generations) were then toured around the school by their proud granddaughters and grandsons before gathering at the bottom of the bunting-clad field for a scrumptious cream tea where a number were joined by the children’s parents.
It was the perfect end to a fantastic half term.
