Headmaster’s Challenge fundraiser

Last term saw the return of The Headmaster’s Challenge at St Andrew’s Prep where Year 7 pupils were given the opportunity to think creatively, develop new skills and use them to make a positive social impact. Each pupil was given £10 by the Headmaster as an investment. They were then set the task to come up with a big idea for a service or product to make or sell, and devise a business plan to grow their investment.   Headmaster's challenge St Andrew's Prep

The deeds were inspirational to say the least and ideas ranged from organising dinner parties and making products out of wood, to making crepes. Those with produce to sell displayed their talents and creative ideas at the market in May. The children’s investments grew to raise a phenomenal £4,341 – which is £2,000 more than last year.

A number of pupils have now decided to become Philanthropy Ambassadors and they will make a presentation on behalf of their chosen charity to the Senior Management Team.  The idea is to re-create, as far as possible, the reality of life for many charities who need to bid for funding in order to survive.  A huge well done to the pupils for their ingenuity and the parents for their support.
