Health and Wellbeing workshops

The pupils have had a very educational and productive day today and have learnt about nutrition behind the food they eat and the importance of eating a healthy balanced diet. Sally Crewe, the nutritionist for Holroyd Howe, the catering company at St Andrew’s Prep, gave an interactive talk after which the children’s knowledge was challenged with games and quizzes.

Nursery and Prep played the ‘food alphabet game’, and they had the opportunity to learn where different foods come from and understand the importance of trying new food.

Years 5 and 6 had the chance to create their own healthy balanced diet. In the afternoon, Year 7 and 8 learnt about the importance of breakfast and how the media can influence what we eat.

To break up the workshops, pupils were able to make their own smoothie… while riding a smoothie bike!

All in all, it was a fun, interactive and educational day that has made pupils more aware of what they eat and taught them how to follow a healthy diet.
