King opens world’s longest coastal path around England
King Charles officially opened the new King Charles III England Coast Path today after visiting Seven Sisters National Nature Reserve.
This is wonderfully close to home. With the sea only moments from us, our pupils grow up exploring and learning beside this coastline recognised on the world stage. Outdoor lessons, beach adventures and curiosity‑filled lessons on the Downs all feel a bit more magic when they happen on the same shoreline the King walked this morning. The path now wraps continuously around England’s shoreline, stretching 2,689 miles, making it the longest managed coastal walking route in the world.
