st andrews prep sebastian croft speech dayWe are delighted to announce that the actor of stage and screen, Sebastian (known as Bash to his friends) Croft, will be joining us for Speech Day on Saturday 6 July.

Seventeen year old Bash’s latest film will see him playing the lead role of Atti in Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans which is due for release in late July. The star-studded cast also includes Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kim Cattral, Warwick Davies, Derek Jacobi, Emilia Jones and Lee Mack.

Bash’s acting career started at just seven years old when he joined a touring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Since then, he has played on many West End stages in productions including Oliver, Les Misérables, Matilda, Coriolanus and The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole: The Musical. He has worked under some of the world’s greatest directors including Sam Mendes, Cameron Mackintosh and Trevor Nunn and his career has seen him play alongside superstars including Tom Hiddleston, Carrie Fisher, Rita Ora, and Alfie Boe.

Bash has also appeared in a number of TV shows including Houdini and Doyle and Penny Dreadful but he is probably best known for playing the Young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones.

In addition to Horrible Histories, Bash has also made a number of other films including The Hippopotamus and I’ll Find You and he currently has two films in post-production, Wonderwell and Where is Ann Frank?, which are scheduled for release in 2020.
Gareth Jones knows Bash only too well, having served as his housemaster, when Bash attended The Dragon School, Oxford. Mr Jones said, “We are delighted to be welcoming Bash to St Andrew’s Prep and I know that he will be an inspiration to our pupils for his creativity, energy and dedication to the performing arts. I can’t wait to introduce him and he has kindly agreed to take part in a question and answer session which will give our pupils the opportunity to find out more about his career and the path he took to be here.”
Alongside his acting career, Bash is studying for A Levels in English, Philosophy and Film. He is also a keen composer and has written music and lyrics for a number of songs which he plans to record professionally.
Bash is proud to be an ambassador for Fly High Billie, a school’s charity which promotes empathy, insight and compassion in young children through its National B Kinder Day and Billie’s Workbooks, in memory of Billie Kinder who died in 2016, age 12. The charity honours her legacy of incredible kindness to others.
