Gold and Silver Galore at the Juniors Area Athletics

A wonderful day was had by our Year 4 and 5 athletes at the annual Inter prep school Athletics meet at Hurst and there were many great performances to see the children improve their personal bests. The team did brilliantly and qualified for the finals in six individual events.

Top of the podium places were gained by Hugo who won gold medal in the U10 75m with a time of 11.44s and Georgiana won gold in the U10 Rounders ball throw with a distance of 29.07m.  Moses ran an amazing 600m and just missed out on a gold for the U10s in 2.01m.  On top of these exceptional performances George received second place in the Long Jump with 3.69m.  Rosie qualified for the 75m final and gained fourth place with a time of 11.84s on top of winning third place in the Long Jump with 3.43m. Ben amazed himself by qualifying for the 200m final and was placed fourth in 35.41s. Phoebe came fourth in the 800m in 3.14m. Martina qualified for the finals in the 200m and came fifth with 36.07s and many more PBs were gained. Aaron threw the cricket ball 35.92m.Thomas ran the 800m in 3.03 and Oscar ran the 1500m in 6.04s, both of which were great times for their age. The relays didn’t disappoint either with the Year 4 boys putting on a spectacular display in the heats for the 4x100m. It was a great experience for all involved and the pupils were a real credit to school.St Andrews Prep Junior Hurst Athletics 2018
