St Andrew’s Prep Sports Day: a celebration of team spirit
On 4 June, St Andrew’s Prep enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day, filled with energy, determination and plenty of team spirit.
From the first race to the final event, pupils embraced the day with enthusiasm, giving their all whether competing, supporting their friends or representing their houses. It was wonderful to see so many pupils taking part and enjoying the opportunity to challenge themselves.
There were memorable moments across all age groups. The Juniors impressed with their teamwork in the relay races, the Middles brought plenty of enthusiasm to a fiercely contested tug of war, and the Seniors showcased their athletic ability across a range of track and field events, including some outstanding performances in the high jump.
One of the highlights of the day was the incredible support shown by pupils for one another. House colours, cheering crowds and words of encouragement created a wonderful atmosphere and reflected the strong sense of community that exists at St Andrew’s Prep.
Congratulations to Sea Kings, who were crowned this year’s winning house following a closely fought competition.
Reflecting on the day, Head of Sport Andy Ghammache said:
“Sports Day is about so much more than winning. It is an opportunity for every pupil to challenge themselves, support their teammates and demonstrate the values we encourage every day at St Andrew’s. I was incredibly proud of the effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by all our pupils.”
Headmaster Tom Gregory added:
“What stood out most was the way our pupils encouraged one another throughout the day. Sports Day is always a highlight of the school calendar because it captures the spirit of St Andrew’s so well – ambition, resilience, teamwork and fun. My thanks go to our staff, families and, most importantly, our pupils for making it such a memorable occasion.”
