The St Andrew’s Prep staff have put together a heart-warming cover of the Doris Day classic Que Sera, Sera which has been sent to parents and children amid the Covid-19 pandemic .

The tribute was put together by Director of Music Rob Cousins with contributions from the Headmaster, Gareth Jones (in various guises), members of the Senior Management Team, teachers and support staff from all areas of the school.

Mr Jones said, “We are a caring family school and the staff were only too keen to get involved. But in addition to that, as educators, we play a large part in our pupils lives and I thought it was really important for them to see their teachers smiling and singing, as we all normally do, to help them keep their spirits up.  It is also a thank you for our wonderfully supportive parents.”

Mr Cousins commented, “It’s the perfect track and sentiment. We want our children to be happy and connected at this time and the words of Que Sera Sera with adaptions to the verses seem to sum up the mood wonderfully.”

One pupil commented, “I can’t believe our teachers have put that together for us. It has made my friends, my brother and me feel really special and though I see all my teachers online daily for lessons, they’ve given us something we can keep forever. And some of it’s hilarious!”

St Andrew’s Prep has remained open for children of its key worker parents while running an extensive online learning programme for its pupils since the start of the summer term. The staff now are preparing to open its doors again for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 on  Monday 1 June.
