U11 Rounders team become IAPS Plate winners

The U11 girls had a very successful day playing in the warm sunshine at Holmewood House and should be congratulated on a great team effort with every player contributing to become the IAPS U11 Plate Winners!

The girls played three back to back matches in their section and started well by beating St Ronan’s 6.5-3.5; this was quickly followed by a tightly contested match which finished in a 7-all draw against Hawthorns; the last game was against the Derwent Lodge, who were strong favourites, which we lost 8-11.5 (Daisy scoring three whole rounders). We waited nervously for the last game of our section to be played which would decide if we qualified for the finals after lunch. The girls were thrilled to discover that they were through to the Plate semi final versus Sutton Valence. It was a nail biting game from beginning to end finishing in a well-deserved victory for the girls with only one rounder difference 10-9. Emma had a stunning batting innings scoring six whole rounders. The final was against St Michael’s which the girls won with relative ease getting the opposition out and Sophie batting well to score three whole rounders. This was a fitting finale to their unbeaten rounders season.
