Summer Term: Week 7

As we motor towards the half term holiday, there is a real sense of achievement among the residents of Colstocks. For the boarders, it’s the realisation of everything that they have achieved in the first seven weeks of term, both individually and as a collective. I can also speak for all of the Colstocks staff in saying that we feel an enormous sense of pride watching the children develop emotionally, socially and independently. They are without doubt a part of the St Andrew’s family and they really deserve the week’s break. I know that they are looking forward to catching up with friends and family.

Our Sunday programme continues to be a real highlight for the boarders and last Sunday’s trip to Buzz Active at the River Cuckmere was no different. Although the weather wasn’t as warm as one would have hoped, given the time of year, it did not deter our boarders who propelled themselves fully into an afternoon of paddle boarding and kayaking.

Today we say goodbye to three of our boarders. Oscar Duffour (Year 5) returns to France having completed half a term with us in Colstocks and Hayley Chan and Steven He (Year 8) will be returning to Hong Kong early having completed their exams. We wish all of them the very best for the future and, as the newest members of the Old Androvian family, they know that they will also be welcomed back to St Andrew’s and Colstocks House.

Congratulations to Hayley Chan, this week’s recipient of Tommo’s Trophy, for being ever reliable, sensible and supportive of others. What a fitting way to end her time with us!
