Autumn Term: Week 2

The arrival of the first weekend of term is always a mixture of emotions for the boarders. On the one hand there is relief as they look forward to a weekend lie-in having navigated their way through the first few days of term and on the other is excitement as they look forward to the plans laid on for them.

After a restful morning at school on Saturday, Mr Ghammache accompanied the boarders on a walk along the seafront to the Western Lawns where they enjoyed a trip on Eastbourne’s Big Wheel. This was followed by a walk along the beach eating ice-creams and skimming stones in the sea.

On Sunday Mrs Murray joined the boarders for a trip to Bowles Outdoor Activity Centre. The trip is all about team building and the children worked in small groups to solve puzzles and tasks. It was much enjoyed and served its purpose perfectly.

Activities in school started this week and the boarders have been fully involved. Some have been joining the early morning sports offerings too while everyone has enjoyed taking part in the after-school activities which help keep the boarders engaged alongside the opportunity to try new activities.

Tomorrow, the children take part in their first Saturday morning activities after which they were be a chance for some down-time and to catch up with friends and families. There is also the small matter of the Premier League season starting and most of the Colstocks residents are looking forward to watching the matches on TV. On Sunday, Mr Reed will be taking them to Buzz Active where the children will spend the afternoon sailing, windsurfing and kayaking.

Congratulations to Marcus Ho, this week’s recipient of Tommo’s Trophy, for making such a positive start to life in Colstocks and for always making us smile.
