Should auld acquaintance be forgot?

The Friends of St Andrew’s excelled themselves this weekend with a superb Burns Night celebration.  The dining room was transformed with tartan, heather and thistles and there were the usual ingredients for a traditional Burns Night – the Selkirk Grace, piping in the haggis and a toast to the lasses.  After dinner the tables were cleared away for a ceilidh and a rendition of Auld Lang Syne. Thank you to the Friends for putting on such a good evening.

The Selkirk Grace

Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be thankit.
