St Andrew’s Prep Performance Challenge – Summer 2020
During the summer term the performing arts have been thriving at St Andrew’s Prep, despite the lock-down. Alongside weekly music and art lessons, our singing and instrumental lessons have continued and there have been regular sing-along videos and therapeutic musical playlists on Padlet. Pupils took part in a music and songwriting competition in the first half of term. More recently they were invited to send in videos and photos of their artwork, dance, drama, singing and music making as part of the ‘St Andrew’s Performance Challenge’.
Although we were not able to hold any of our numerous live performances this term, we have put together a film to showcase some of the amazing talent that we are proud to nurture at St Andrew’s Prep. You will see a selection of artwork accompanied by music from our competition winners. Following on from this we have a showcase of the many video performances our pupils have sent in this term. Finally in the last few minutes of the film we have another chance to hear the fabulous Year 8 Leavers’ song that celebrates the productions Bugsy Malone (the Middles Play that they performed back in 2018) and Summer Holiday – the ‘lost’ Senior Play of 2020! We would like to thank all our contributors and we hope you enjoy this virtual celebration of the performing arts at St Andrew’s.
