St Andrew’s Prep – Keeping in Touch over the holidays

While the global pandemic continues, St Andrew’s Prep understands how important it is for pupils to have regular contact with their teachers; simply seeing and hearing their voices offers familiarity and reassurance.

And so, last week, five St Andrew’s Prep teachers live-streamed themselves reading stories for pupils from Nursery to Year 2 from their own sitting rooms and gardens.

Headmaster, Gareth Jones, read the first story and says the response throughout the week was overwhelmingly positive. He commented, “I have received so many heartening comments and messages from parents thanking us for providing a regular slot in the day for the children to look forward to.

“The aim of Story Time Live last week was to boost the wellbeing and relaxation of our pupils while maintaining the close bond between the children and their teachers during the holidays. The stories were also our way of introducing the children to learning in a new online setting.  Story Time will continue each weekday in the Summer Term and will be available on the school’s own learning platform.”
