Autumn Term: Week 12

Over the last seven days we have said goodbye to three of our boarders from Hong Kong who have returned home for Christmas. They will  undertake a 14 day period of isolation in a hotel upon arrival and will then be reunited with their families in good time to celebrate the festive season. We hope they have a wonderful time and we look forward to welcoming them back in January.

The rest of the boarders have spent the last few days of the lockdown enjoying board and card games. It has been lovely to see them engaging in UNO, Monopoly, Jenga and others during the evenings and over the weekends.

I recently hosted the termly boarders’ council meeting. The forum is a chance for our boarders to put forward new ideas for the House to help improve the overall experience for the Colstocks community. In the recent meeting the council put forward some very good suggestions which will be discussed amongst staff over the next few weeks.

The council is another example of the Boarding team giving the boarders a voice; something which is important to them and to us and ensures we are providing them with the best possible environment.

This weekend the boarders will be venturing into town to do some Christmas shopping and on Saturday evening they will be settling down together to watch a Christmas film.

Congratulations to Isaac Lee, this week’s recipient of Tommo’s Trophy for always doing the right thing and constantly giving his best.
