Never Mind the Weather

St Andrew’s School hosted a Football Festival last Saturday. There were 19 teams from clubs in and around the local area comprised of children from the U7, U8 and U9 age groups. The tournament was a ‘friendly’ with no winners or losers but each player received a medal, and a ‘golden boot’ was presented to outstanding performers by the Headmaster, Simon Severino. Despite the mist and rain rolling off the Downs there was a fantastic turnout with over 400 parents and children who all enjoyed tea and cake in the school pavilion. Joint Director of Sport at St Andrew’s, Chris Pinch, who also runs CACL coaching, said, ‘It was a pleasure to see so many children and parents enjoying a festival designed to promote the friendly side of the game.’
