St Andrew’s Day

It was perfect blue skies for St Andrew’s Day as the whole school, from Nursery to Year 8, joined together for fun, laughter and celebrations of the school’s namesake. The Pre-Prep hat parade kicked off the proceedings. The children were applauded as they paraded down the Long Asphalt in their amazing millinery-ware. The hats included themes as diverse as flowers in watering cans, gingerbread houses, sweets shops, the Eiffel tower and a cake stand and, of course, the St Andrew’s flag.

Headmaster, Mr Jones, led a formal service for the Prep school before the Year 8 children took the reins for the morning and organised games around the school which included (among others) a haunted house, a fairy tale assault course, karaoke, bottle spinning, snowball fighting, the obligatory football and the Brownies kindly organised a cake sale. A traditional roast lunch was served to children, staff and special guests who joined in with the festivities and stayed on for the highlight of the day, the St Andrew’s Day Show, organised and hosted by our gap year students. Sketches, songs and dancing galore kept the whole school entertained and was the perfect end to a perfect day.
