St Andrew’s Day

The St Andrew’s Day celebrations got off to a rousing start with the whole school coming together to watch the spectacular Pre-Prep hat parade. The stunningly crafted millinery creations were based on themes as diverse as trees, castles, bagpipes, lightbulbs, ships, a ferris wheel and a very topical Blue Planet interpretation!

After a formal service lead by Headmaster, Mr Jones, the Year 8 children treated the rest of the school to an array of games organised all over the school. The choice of games on offer included something for everyone with Face Painting, Tunnel Adventure, Secret Codes, Nerf Wars, a Haunted House and the obligatory Pillow Fight. The Brownies kindly organized a cake sale which was very popular.
The festivities continued with a delicious roast lunch shared by the children and staff as well as former parents, former staff and Old Androvians, many of whom stayed on to watch the much anticipated St Andrew’s Day show. Organised and hosted by our Gap Year students, the show featured gymnastics, singing, dancing and musical performances as well as sketches by both pupils and staff and it was rounded off with a film and a dance routine by the Gappies and boarders.
